High-Accuracy Positioning for Robotic Systems

This is the Index Cover Plate. It plays a key role in robotic automation equipment. It provides precise angular positioning and station switching. It is usually installed on a rotary table or a turret mechanism. Through precise hole patterns and matching structures, it enables equal or unequal division switching between stations. This ensures every station aligns correctly with the machining or assembly position. Its core functions include high-precision indexing positioning. The holes are arranged equally around the circle or at specific angles. They work with pins or sensors to achieve repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.01° or even higher. It also provides structural support and connection. It serves as the load-bearing base for rotating parts. It connects the motor, gearbox, and worktable. It transmits torque and maintains rigidity. Precise Materials and Machining

We make these cover plates from aluminum alloy, like 6061-T6, or stainless steel, like 304 or 316. These materials offer a good balance of light weight, corrosion resistance, and size stability. The production process includes CNC turning and milling. This ensures good concentricity and position accuracy for the outer diameter, inner hole, end face, and hole positions. We do precision drilling and tapping. The hole position tolerance is controlled within ±0.01 mm. The bore tolerance is within H7. The thread accuracy reaches class 6H. Surface treatments include anodizing or nickel plating. These improve wear and corrosion resistance. We use CMM inspection to check key hole positions, flatness, and circular runout on all parts. This ensures assembly consistency.

Standard Sizes and Versatile Hole Patterns

The plate diameters come in 4 inches (100 mm), 6 inches (150 mm), and 8 inches (200 mm). The maximum size is 12 inches. The thickness ranges from 5 to 10 mm. The center hole comes in three sizes: 21 mm, 25 mm, and 30 mm. These fit different index head spindles. The core of this index plate is its hole accuracy. We offer three sets of standard hole plates. Plate A has holes for 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 divisions. Plate B has holes for 21, 23, 27, 29, 31, and 33 divisions. Plate C has holes for 37, 39, 41, 43, 47, and 49 divisions. With these three plates, you can achieve any equal division from 2 to 380. Direct indexing is also easy for 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24 divisions. The indexing accuracy is very high. It is between ±15 arc seconds and ±30 arc seconds.
